Fido, but not the one we're looking for!

So nobody likes passwords, they're an age-old practise that allows us access to our devices and data, they're annoying, they're complicated, we forget them, they're often insecure.

Is there another way?

Fido seems to think there is.

FIDO may sound like the name of a cute puppy, but it stands for Fast Identity Online.

The FIDO alliance members consist of some of the worlds largest tech companies, including the big 4, Google, Facebook, Microsoft and Google (full list here). Their goal?

"The FIDO Alliance is an open industry association with a focused mission: authentication standards to help reduce the world's over-reliance on passwords". - The FIDO Alliance

Over the next month, I will be adopting several of the FIDO alliance standards with the view of doing away entirely with passwords.

Let the fun begin.
